Adduct
2. A chemical addition product.
3. One part of the same.
Adduct comes from the Latin word "adducere" meaning "to bring to."
1. To move towards or past the center of the body. An example would be if you took your arm from being straight out to the side, and moved it towards the side of your body. Now your arm would be closer to the middle of your body. Moving a finger or fingers towards the middle part of the hand or moving a toe or toes towards the middle part of the foot would be another example of what it means to adduct. Compare adduct with abduct, which means to move away from the center.
