Bathyanesthesia
A loss of sensitivity from deep structures such as muscles, bones, joints, tendons, and ligaments. A joint is a place where two bones contact each other. Tendons are groups of fibers that attach muscles to a bone. A ligament is a tough band of tissue that attaches to joint bones. Ligaments normally prevent the joint from moving too much. Bathyanesthesia comes from the Greek word "bathys" meaning "deep," the Greek word "an" meaning "not," and the Greek word "aesthesis" meaning "sensation." Put the words together and you have "depth not sensation."
