Cytoplasm
Cytoplasm also contains foreign substances and mixed substances that have not been brought into the cell as a result of trauma. Cytoplasm comes from the Greek word "kytos" meaning "a hollow cell," and the Greek word "plasma" meaning "thing formed." Put the two words together and you have "a hollow (cell) thing formed."
A gooey substance that fills up a cell. It contains everything in the cell except the nucleus (center structure of a cell) and the outer surface of the cell A cell is the smallest, most basic unit of life, that is capable of existing by itself. Cytoplasm is made up of fluid and structures known as organelles. "Organelles" is a name for all of the small bodies in a cell that perform necessary roles regarding the chemical reactions inside a cell. The more fluid part of the cytoplasm is known as cytochylema.
