Dolichocephalic
To have an abnormally long head. Technically, a dolichocephalic head is defined as having a skull with a cephalic index below 75. The cephalic index is a rating scale that is used to measure the size of the head. The rating on the cephalic index is obtained by multiplying the maximum width of the head by 100 and dividing that number by the maximum length of the head. A cephalic index between 76 and 80 is considered normal.

The condition of being dolichocephalic is known as dolichocephaly. Compare dolichocephalic to brachycephaly, which is a short head. A normal, medium sized head is known as mesocephalic. Dolichocephalic is also known as dolichocranial, dolichocephalous, cymbocephalic, cymbocephalous, tectocephalic, scaphocephalic, and scaphocephalous. Dolichocephalic comes from the Greek word "dolichos" meaning "long," the Greek word "kephale" meaning "head," and the Greek word "ikos" meaning "pertaining to." Put the words together and you have "pertaining to (a) long head."
