Ectrogeny means an absence or defect of a body part that is present at birth. Something that is affected by ectrogeny is called ectrogenic. Ectrogeny comes from the Greek word "ektrosis" meaning "miscarriage," and the Greek word "gen" meaning "producing." Put the words together and you have "producing miscarriage."
