Heterocellular refers to a structure formed of different kinds of cells. A cell is the smallest, most basic unit of life, that is capable of existing by itself. Heterocellular comes from the Greek word "heteros" meaning "other," and the Latin word "cella" meaning "a storeroom." Put the words together and you get "other storeroom."
