Heterocrisis is a rarely used term for an unusual crisis. The crisis is unusual in the sense that it occurs at an unusual time or occurs with unusual symptoms. Heterocrisis comes from the Greek word "heteros" meaning "other," and the Greek word "krisis" meaning "a separation." Put the words together and you get "a separation other."
