Heterodisperse means of varying size. The term is used to describe aerosols whose particles are not the same size. Aerosols are liquids or fine particles that are dispersed in air, gas, or vapor in the form of a fine mist. Heterodisperse comes from the Greek word "heteros" meaning "other," and the Latin word "dispergere" meaning "to scatter abroad." Put the words together and you get "to scatter abroad other."
