Ichorrhea means the release of a great amount of ichor. Ichor is a rarely used term for a thin, watery fluid that is released from a sore, an unhealthy wound, or from an ulcer (an open sore). Ichorrhea comes from the Greek word "ichor" meaning "serum," and the Greek word "rhoia," meaning "flow." Put the two words together and you have "serum flow." Serum is any clear, watery fluid that has been separated from its more solid parts.
