Karyogenic means relating to karyogenesis, which is formation of the nucleus (the central structure) of a cell. A cell is the smallest, most basic unit of life, that is capable of existing by itself. Karyogenic comes from the Greek word "karyon" meaning "nucleus," the Greek word "genesis" meaning "production," and the Greek word "ikos" meaning "pertaining to." Put the words together and you have "pertaining to nucleus production."
