Labium has the following meanings in the field of medicine:

1. Lips. The fleshy liplike edges at the end of an organ or structure.

2. Any lip shaped structure.

3. The folds of skin at the opening of the vagina. The vagina is an opening in the female's body that is part of the reproductive system.

More than one labium is known as labia. Labium comes from the Latin word “labium” meaning “lip.”
