Neuro- is a word part that means nerve, nerve tissue, and the nervous system. For an example of a word using neuro-, see neuropsychology, a specialty of psychology that is concerned with the study of the relationship between the brain and behavior. Since the brain is a major part of the nervous system, the word "neuro-" is used to refer to the brain as well. Neuro- comes from the Greek word "neuron" meaning "nerve."
