FEATURED BOOKS ON HAND AND FOOT CARE FROM BARNES & NOBLE.COM:
Onychogryposis means enlarged and increased thickness, curving, hardening, and clawlike appearance of the fingernails or toenails. The condition mostly happens in older people. Although the cause is unknown, it is associated with poor circulation of the blood and fungus infection. A fungus is a simple type of parasite. A parasite is an organism that lives in or on another organism to obtain nourishment. Onychogryposis comes from the Greek word "onyx" meaning "nail," and the Greek word "gryposis" meaning "curvature." Put the words together and you have "nail curvature."
