Paraparesis
Weakness affecting only the legs and not the arms. As such, paraparesis affects the ability to walk. Paraparesis is a less serious condition than paraplegia, in which there is a loss of the ability to move and/or feel both legs and generally, the lower trunk (stomach area and lower back). The word "paraparesis," comes from the Greek word "para," meaning "near," and the word "paresis," meaning "paralysis." Put the two words together and you have "near paralysis."
