FEATURED BOOKS ON FECES (POOP) FROM BARNES & NOBLE.COM:
Stool
Stool comes from the Anglo Saxon word "stol," which means "seat." The reason for this is that the word "stool" was used to describe the seat one sat on to go to the bathroom. So when people would go to the bathroom, the expression was that they were "going to stool." By the end of the 16th century, the word stool was used to mean the same thing as "feces."
A fancy way to describe something that is not so fancy. To put it plainly, stool is poop, the matter that is discharged from the bowels and hopefully into a diaper or toilet bowl. You may have also heard to it referred to as crap or feces. A discharging of the bowels is also referred to as stool. For more information on the makeup of stool, see the entry for feces.
